Dansko Launches Sock Line
In terms of comfort and support, Dansko's first sock line will continue where their shoes leave off. The collection, which features five colorful patterns in three heights, will debut this fall. To manufacture the socks, the West Grove, Pa.-based brand partnered with DeFeet”known for construction innovations popular with professional cyclists and runners.
The line marries Dansko's knack for quality products with its quirky personality. Each sock is constructed to boost support to high impact areas such as the heel, while high-quality moisture wicking materials help regulate and dry feet. The socks utilize four times more Lycra fiber than other lifestyle socks to help them keep their shape wear after wear and are available in two sustainable materials: Coolmax Ecomade fiber and Merino wool. Securing eco-friendly materials added a degree of difficulty to the sourcing process, but Dansko CEO Many Cabot said it was critical to make sure this was not 'just one more product in the marketplace'. "With each component, we asked ourselves is this being developed in a sustainable manner? It wasn't an easy process but we are very happy with the end result," she explained.
